Abstract: Objective To analyze and evaluate the effect of cluster nursing strategy in preventing hypoglycemia and hypokalemia in the treatment of DKA patients in the emergency department. Methods A total of 80 DKA patients admitted to the emergency department of our hospital from January 2023 to December 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into the observation group and the control group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine DKA emergency care, while the observation group received cluster nursing strategy on the basis of routine care. The incidence of electrolyte disorders, treatment efficiency indicators, and clinical prognosis indicators were compared. Results The incidence of hypoglycemia and hypokalemia in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05); the time to reach blood glucose target and the time for blood potassium stability in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05); the average length of hospital stay in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion The systematic and standardized intervention combination of cluster nursing can effectively improve the safety and efficiency of DKA treatment in the emergency department and has high application and promotion value in improving the clinical prognosis of patients.
