Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of the Knowledge-Attitude-Practice (KAP) health education model in the nursing care of breast cancer patients with hand-foot syndrome (HFS).Methods A randomized controlled trial was conducted, in which 100 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy were randomly assigned to either an observation group (n=50) or a control group (n=50). The observation group received the KAP health education model, comprising knowledge education, attitude guidance, and behavior training, delivered over one week. The control group received routine health education. Data on HFS symptom scores and quality of life (QOL) were collected from both groups before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention, the observation group exhibited significantly lower HFS symptom scores (P<0.05) and significantly higher QOL scores (P<0.05) compared to the control group. Conclusion The KAP health education model effectively alleviates symptoms of hand-foot syndrome and improves quality of life in breast cancer patients.
